HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (one semester)
Human Development is designed to engage students in
discussion and reflection on various aspects of life as they begin
their high school years. The course focuses on helping students
become more aware of themselves (emotionally, socially, and
spiritually) and the world around them while they make the
transition from adolescence to adulthood. Students are taught
how to make appropriate and responsible choices when they are
faced with the many challenges of adolescence. The course is
discussion driven and allows students the freedom to speak
openly in a supportive environment and provides opportunities
for students to define their fundamental values, examine their
priorities, goals and use of time and reflect on their relationships.
