Tuesday January 17th marked the exact half-way point in the construction schedule of the new building. We are very pleased to say that we are ON SCHEDULE and UNDER BUDGET. The completion date remains August 22nd.
We would like you to be aware of several construction related events.
There will be no power to the Upper School during the weekend of Winter Break while we relocate the main transformer to its new location.
For about three weeks from the later part of next week you will likely smell hot tar fumes in the air. This is part of the process of sealing the flat sections of roofing. It is not a cause for alarm, but it may be unpleasant.
Throughout the construction process you may occasionally smell what seems like propane gas during the process of pumping out the portable toilets. We are moving the toilets as far away from the campus as we can, but it cannot be totally avoided. It is unpleasant, but as our construction superintendent says “at least you don’t have to use them!”
